Well howdy there, partner! Jake’s back on his porch, got my sweet tea in hand, and I’m fixin’ to tell y’all about this here Find My Dating App. Now, the name sounds simple enough, don’t it? Like it’s gonna do all the hard work for you. It says it’s from a “portfolio of 4,000+ sites,” which sounds more complicated than my tax forms. But a simple fella like me can always use a little help findin’ a good time, so I figured I’d give it a whirl.
Let me tell y’all what works first. The setup’s easier than makin’ instant grits. You just answer a few questions, and boom, it sends you to some other site. It’s like havin’ a matchmaker who don’t actually talk to you, just points you in a direction. I reckon that’s kinda nice if you’re lazy or if you’re not real sure what you’re lookin’ for. It’s got a little somethin’ for everyone, or at least that’s what they claim. It’s like a buffet, you just walk down the line and see what looks good.
But the’ll hit you like a Texas hailstorm. For starters, this ain’t really one app. It’s like a front door for a whole mess of other websites. I clicked one button and ended up on a site for “cowgirl lovers,” clicked another and was on a site for “folks who like to dress up like superheroes.” It was more confusing than a chameleon in a bag of M&Ms. And every site it sent me to was askin’ for money. It was like goin’ to a carnival where every ride costs a different ticket, and you gotta keep buyin’ more tickets. It’ll make a fella’s wallet feel lighter than a feather in a hurricane.
Now, let me tell y’all a little story about my time with this Find My Dating App. So I’m on there, and it asks me what I’m lookin’ for. I figure, what the heck, I’ll be honest. I type in “A good-lookin’ gal who ain’t afraid of a little hard work and knows her way around a BBQ pit.” I hit enter, and the screen flashes and says, “Perfect! We’ve found the ideal site for you: ‘Pig Pen Passion’!”
Well, I’ll be darned. That sounds right up my alley, don’t it? So I click on over to this Pig Pen Passion site, and I’m feelin’ pretty good. The first profile I see is this real pretty gal. Name’s Betty-Lou. She’s got a big smile, says she loves the outdoors, and her profile picture is her standin’ next to a prize-winnin’ hog. I’m thinkin’, “Well, hello, Betty-Lou.” I send her a message, somethin’ real smooth like, “Howdy there, darlin’. That’s a fine lookin’ pig you got there. Bet he’d make some good eatin’.”
She messages back right away, which was a good sign. She says, “Oh, he’s not for eatin’! He’s my best friend, Sir Oinksalot. We do everything together! We go for walks, we watch movies, he even sleeps at the foot of my bed.”
Well, I’m a little taken aback, but I figure, okay, she’s just real fond of her pig. So we keep chattin’. She asks me what I do for fun, and I tell her I like to fish, hunt, and go to the honky-tonk on Saturday nights. She says, “Oh, that sounds nice. Sir Oinksalot prefers more quiet activities. We mostly just cuddle and I read him poetry.”
At this point, I’m startin’ to think this ain’t exactly what I was lookin’ for. But I’m a polite fella, so I keep chattin’. Then she asks me if I have any pets. I tell her I have a good ol’ dog named Gus. She asks what kind of dog he is, and I tell her he’s a blue heeler. She messages back, and this is the God’s honest truth, she says, “A blue heeler? Oh, I’m so sorry. Those dogs are too high-strung. They make Sir Oinksalot nervous. I don’t think this is going to work out. Please don’t write back.”
Well, I just sat there for a minute, my jaw hangin’ open like a barn door in a hurricane. I was rejected. By a woman. Because her pig don’t like my dog’s breed. I was more confused than a possum playin’ dead on a freeway. I felt like a fool. I went and found Gus and gave him a big ol’ hug, just to reassure him that he wasn’t too high-strung.
So there you have it, folks. Find My Dating App is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get. You might find a nice gal, or you might get rejected by a woman’s pet pig. It’s a real mixed bag, and it’s a gamble. It’s like fishin’ in a stock tank – you might catch a big one, or you might just pull up a bunch of mud.
Alright, that’s all from ol’ Jake today. I think I’ll stick to meetin’ women the old-fashioned way – at the feed store. At least there, the only pigs I gotta worry about are the ones on the barbecue pit. Y’all take care now, ya hear?
